When to send and follow up on RSVPs
da3wa editorial · Updated July 2026

An RSVP timeline should give guests room to plan while leaving the couple enough time to confirm seating, catering, and transport.
Work backward from the venue deadline
Ask the venue and caterer for their final headcount date, add a small review buffer, and make that earlier date the RSVP deadline shown to guests.
Follow up with care
Send one broad reminder before the deadline, then contact only guests who have not replied. A personal link is calmer and more effective than repeated group messages.
A good reminder removes friction without making the guest feel chased.
Keep the personal link available after submission so guests can update attendance, dietary needs, or plus-ones before the list closes.
